The period of time from around Thanksgiving in November up to and through the New Years Day holiday can be a wonderful time when family and friends get together and show appreciation for everything that has gone on. We give thanks for everything that has gone on in our lives and for all of the people that we know. We socialize more with our co-workers and we often spend much more time partying than at any other time during the year. It can be a truly magical time but there are some imminent dangers that happen this time of year that normally would not be an issue.

People spend the holidays having a good time but all too often forget about the dangers of the additional electrical load, the old extension cords and such that can produce everything from trip and fall hazards to  shorting out and starting fires.

That can meant hat things got unpacked and set up hastily and not as much attention has been given to the safety issues that can cause problems

You should check the obvious. Make sure that all of the electrical cords that you are using are in good repair and that they are run in a manner that they are not going to become a trip and fall issue for your guests. Remember that this time of year people tend to drink a little more alcohol so they could be a little clumsier than normal.

This certainly does not mean that even if you are caught up in the study process for your US Visa that you can not have a good time. If you do that you might just see an obvious issue that was not otherwise apparent to you.

Keeping the holidays safe and enjoyable for all is not a hard job; it only requires a little common sense and taking the time to pay attention to what you are doing. Look at things as a stranger might and you can spot things that you overlooked

Remember too that the eggnog and work don’t go well together.
